During renovation of an existing structure in downtown Oklahoma City, a general contractor needed to anchor new stairs into the existing columns and beams. Per the structural engineer’s request, no rebar was allowed to be damaged during the drilling process. Ground Penetrating Radar Services was requested to accurately map the existing steel within the structure. The GPRS technician marked the reinforcing steel directly onto the surface using crayon. Ground Penetrating Radar is a non-hazardous form of concrete x-ray that shows the data in real time. Due to the results being instantaneous, they are easily communicated and interpreted.
