Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. – GPRS – of Southern California was contacted by a directional drilling company to locate utilities in a parking area prior to running a new cable line. The scope of work consisted of a 100 LF path that crossed several main utilities that provide service to the local apartment complex nearby. We scanned 15’ on either side of the center of the path and marked all the findings on the surface with chalk paint as requested. Among the findings were water, gas, electric and sewer.
GPR mapping is a great tool to scan for post tension cables, rebar, and conduits; it can also be used to locate underground utilities prior to digging or excavating. GPRS has offices throughout the entire state of California and performs projects in cities like; Ventura, Santa Barbara, Thousand Oaks, San Luis Obispo, Bakersfield, Lancaster and the greater Los Angeles area.
