GPRS of Oklahoma was recently contacted by a construction company that was hired to install a new drainage infrastructure in two manifold areas of one of the largest petroleum tank farms in the U.S. The team that was working to install this new drainage infrastructure needed to maintain the integrity of these important systems. Before digging in these areas, the underground utilities needed to be identified and marked so they could be avoided. Ground Penetrating Radar, with assistance of radio detection (RD), was used to properly detect the utilities so the team could safely work in and around the manifolds. Andy Dermer – GPRS Oklahoma – examined the areas in question and mapped out the obstructions so they could dig with ease. The map shown above is the deliverable that GPRS makes available to clients who not only need utilities flagged on the surface, but also need a reference for future projects.
