GPR Scan Detects Reinforcing Steel Prior to Core Drilling in Las Vegas

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. – GPRS – of Las Vegas was contacted by a large general contractor to locate the reinforcing steel in a concrete slab prior to core drilling. The driller was coring 6” into the concrete and GPRS was able to mark the location and depth of the reinforcing steel onto the surface of the concrete so that the core drilling could be performed without cutting through the shallower layer of reinforcing steel. Unlike conventional X-Ray, GPR is not limited to a specific size of area at each location.
