GPR Scan to Locate Reinforcing Steel – St. Cloud, MN

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Minnesota was recently called out to a hospital in St. Cloud, MN to investigate a concrete slab to map out the reinforcing steel prior to installing a new MRI machine. The Hospital construction staff needed to know how much reinforcing steel was in the slab so they could determine whether or not it would affect the new MRI machine.  GPRS of Minnesota was able to mobilize to the site quickly and give the hospital the necessary information needed to make a decision.

Digital concrete imaging is a quick and easy way to locate post tension cables, rebar, and conduits in concrete prior to saw cutting or core drilling. The process is extremely fast due to its live feed system, which means the targets are mapped out on the surface of the concrete as they are located in real time. Concrete radar also does not emit any radiation like traditional x-ray so data can be collected on an active job site.
