GPR Used to Locate Possible UST (Underground Storage Tank) in Colorado Springs, Colorado

GPRS was contacted by Dickson & Associates of Denver Colorado to use Ground Penetrating Radar and Electro Magnetic Induction (EMI) to locate possible underground storage tanks (UST’s) in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The customer was going to do soil boring samples on the job and needed to verify that there were no tanks still present on the property. Ground Penetrating Radar Systems was able to quickly mobilize and scan the area using400 MHz antenna and EMI (Electromagnetic Induction) Profiler.

The technician was able to quickly scan the area and mark out any possible areas that a UST was located currently or in the past using ground penetrating radar. Because GPR has instant results all findings were marked directly on the surface for the customer in real time. This was important to the customer as they needed results of all findings immediately.  Ground Penetrating Radar Systems was also able to use Electromagnetic Induction technology to scan the area to look deeper and locate any targets that will put off a magnetic field.  This data is then processed so any potential targets can be communicated to the customer immediately.

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems uses these as well as other Non-Destructive concrete imaging testing’s to locate post-tension cables, rebar, underground storage tanks, plumbing or electrical conduits.  It is also safe to use the Ground Penetrating Radar technology as it does not deliver any radiation as we scan your job site unlike concrete x-ray.  If you need a similar scan on your job site please feel free to contact Kevin Salazar (Project Manager) at 720-498-3834 or e-mail at for the surrounding Denver metro areas Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Monument, Castle Rock, Parker, Littleton, Evergreen, Aspen, Vail, Golden and Broomfield.  We also perform GPR investigations out of Colorado in Albuquerque, Kansas City, Omaha, Phoenix and Salt Lake City.
