GPRS Used to Help Environmental Company Miss Private Utilities

A General Contractor had a project in Wakefield, MA in the parking lot of an automobile dealership. The scope of the project was to locate private underground utilities prior to the drilling of several environmental soil borings and also locate a suspected buried Underground Storage Tank (UST) or the excavation pit. The General Contractor decided to contact Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Massachusetts after learning that they have been in business since 2001 and each technician has the experience of performing over 350 surveys per year. GPRS was able to complete the investigation the next day and allowed the project to proceed without hitting a single utility line. The field technician was also able to verify through GPR that no UST remained in place. Through the use of real time applications and an experienced technician GPRS was able to locate all of the utilities, and give the client the safest and most ideal locations to trench.

At the job site, GPRS scanned the designated area(s) of an asphalt parking lot per a provided site map. All soil boring locations were pre-cleared of utilities and marked in a safe location. The General Contractor now had the information needed to proceed with the project without causing any delay in business. The General Contractor was enamored with the quality of work that was performed and the timely, efficient manner in which it was done.
