Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. – GPRS – of California was contacted by a construction company to locate and mark out rebar and conduit prior to core drilling in 5 different areas in the second floor of the Versace store in Beverly Hills, CA. Due to the client’s work schedule GPRS was asked to perform the work on a Friday night as they were to block off traffic. The slab consisted of metal decking and only rebar was found in the areas that they were to core drill. The use of Radio Detection also helped determine there was no conduit as there was no live power in any of the areas. The coring was in 2 framing locations and 2 areas along a wall as they will be installing plumbing for restrooms.
