In January of 2014, Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. (GPRS) was contacted by a contractor in order to determine the re-bar patterns and concrete thickness in several areas in an unfinished pool in Tampa, Florida. The city’s inspector needed to make certain that proper procedures were taken when constructing the pool. The company contacted GPRS of Tampa, Florida in order to know what the rebar patterns were and how thick the concrete was in certain areas of the pool.
Justin Rasanow of GPRS was contacted in order to perform the survey at this location. Using our 1600MHz antenna radar equipment, we were able to map rebar patterns and concrete thickness in the requested areas. The contractor and city inspector were pleased with our results and felt relieved that they were able to proceed with constructing the pool.
Below is a photo taken on-site which depicts Justin Rasanow scanning one of the areas of concern using our 1600MHz antenna.
