What is your claim to fame (what do people find really interesting about you)?
Well, my real full name is James H James III. Every credit card use, every booked reservation, every introduction results in a disbelieving look or confusion. Last name? James. First name? James. Oh, I’m sorry what was your last name then? . . . and repeat that about two more times before it clicks.
Do you have a motto that you live or work by if so what is it?
I’m completely paraphrasing, but it is from the Dalai Lama: If there are problems in your life and you can do something about them, there is nothing to worry about; if you can’t do anything about them, there is nothing to worry about.
I strive to focus on what I can control and avoid “crying over spilt milk” situations and I think this quote emphasizes focusing on the aspects you can control of any problem.
What is your biggest personal goal in the next five years?
I don’t know if it’s my biggest personal goal, but my most important is to just ensure that I improve myself daily, monthly, yearly. I want to continue to try to make myself a better, more well-rounded person, whether that’s in my general and professional proficiencies through reading or education or its in the relationships that I have or it’s in my personal finances. If you are constantly improving these aspects of yourself, almost any specific end goal is possible.
