The Washington Monument Grounds are Scanned to Prepare for Upcoming Event

Recently, an event production company contacted GPRS to come out to Washington, D.C. and scan the lawn surrounding the Washington Monument for underground utilities. The scanning was done prior to the company setting up tents, trailers, and stages for the event. The production company had to drive a large number of stakes into the ground to act as an anchor for the equipment being set up. Josh Walker is a highly trained technician with the DC GPRS team; he scanned three areas around the monument which ultimately totaled two acres of land. He used the GSSI SIR 3000 with a 400 MHz antenna to scan the areas and followed up by performing sweeps with the RD 800 (radio detection device), which will pick up any live power or communication lines.

GPRS was able to exceed the expectations of the client by not only locating the utilities, but marking them out on the surface in real time using spray paint. The project was completed in a safe and non-destructive manner. GPRS of the Washington, D.C. area has the technology and the training to meet your needs in a timely manner, ultimately ensuring your projects get finished safely and on time.
